Dalianis works in the interface between industry and university and with the aim to make research results useful for society. Dalianis has specialized in the area of human language technology, to make computer to understand and process human language text, but also to make a computer to produce text automatically. Examples on applications are automatic text summarization and search engines with built language technology support as for example stemming and spelling support. Dalianis works also with automatic named entity tagging and clustering. Current research is human language technology applied in the area of medical informatics and specifically in EPR, electronic patient records written in Swedish.
Dalianis has presented his research results on a great number of international conferences and journals. Dalianis has more than 20 years experience in his research area. Dalianis has earlier worked and NADA-KTH, SISU, Ellemtel, Ericsson, Cap Gemini and also at the ISI/University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He is also co-founder off the spin off company Euroling AB that develops and delivers the commercial web site and intranet search engine SiteSeeker to over 300 customers in Sweden.
